Therapy for Highly Sensitive and Neurodivergent People
Many of the people who find their way here have spent years feeling like they experience the world differently.
You may notice things others don’t.
You may feel deeply, think deeply, and process experiences intensely.
What seems manageable to others can feel overwhelming to someone with a highly responsive nervous system.
Some people identify strongly with the term Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).
Others discover that they are neurodivergent, such as having ADHD, autistic traits, or another form of deep nervous system sensitivity.
In reality, there is often significant overlap between these experiences.
Over time, many highly sensitive and neurodivergent people learn to cope by:
• masking who they are
• pushing past their limits
• trying to be less sensitive
• disconnecting from their intuition and inner world
These strategies may help for a while, but eventually they tend to lead to deeper exhaustion, self-doubt, or burnout.
Therapy here takes a different approach.
Instead of trying to make you less sensitive, our work focuses on understanding your nervous system, healing the deeper roots of distress, and helping you reclaim the strengths that come with your sensitivity.
Together we may explore:
• anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional intensity
• trauma and relational wounds
• nervous system dysregulation and burnout
• identity, purpose, and life transitions
• learning to trust your sensitivity rather than fight it
For some clients, this work may also include ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) as a powerful experiential approach that can support deeper healing and transformation.
You may notice that your mind jumps quickly between ideas, that you feel things intensely, or that you need more time than others to process experiences. You may feel overstimulated by noise, lights, social interaction, or emotional intensity. At times you may wonder why life seems to require so much more energy for you than it does for others.
For some people, this leads to discovering they are neurodivergent, such as having ADHD, autistic traits, or another form of deep nervous system sensitivity. Others simply recognize that their nervous system processes the world differently.
Either way, therapy becomes a place to understand your nervous system rather than fight it.
